Autumn

A scarlet sky surrounding the glowing orange sun at dusk
Leaves fall like paper
Turning from their vivid green to a golden brown....a deep red

Trees look bare, ageing a thousand years
The blazing heat of summer has passed us
A new dawn. A new day arrises

A season of strength. Love. Power
So close we can smell it
Rotting wood. Fire. Rain....
A sound of silence
A flutter of leaves as they shed from the tallest oak

No longer will the heat suffocate us
No longer will the sun emit its raging inferno
A blissful cold dampness returns once more
A much welcome darkness

Autumn begins.
